Not that long ago it was difficult to locate a true Irish bar or pub. That is one which sold a range of genuine Irish beer, stout and spirits, played good Irish music, recreated the ambience of the bars and pubs which abound in Ireland and where New Zealanders, without claim to Irish ancestry, could feel welcome, participate and enjoy true Irish craic.
